Piazza del Ferrarese

Today, its lively cafés and elegant architecture make it one of Bari's favourite gathering places, offering an introduction to the city's long connection with the Adriatic Sea and its welcoming atmosphere.
Piazza Mercantile
Pass by

Once the commercial heart of medieval Bari, Piazza Mercantile has long been a place where business, politics and everyday life came together. Surrounded by historic palaces and bustling cafés, the square still reflects the city's sociable spirit, where conversations unfold as naturally today as they have for centuries.
Bari Vecchia
Pass by

The winding lanes of Bari Vecchia reveal the city's oldest and most authentic neighbourhood. Stone archways, hidden courtyards and washing strung between balconies create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and unmistakably lived in. As you wander these narrow streets, your host will share the traditions, stories and local customs that continue to shape everyday life here.
Pass by

One of southern Italy's most important pilgrimage sites, the Basilica di San Nicola welcomes visitors from around the world who come to honour Saint Nicholas. Combining striking Romanesque architecture with centuries of devotion, the basilica remains central to Bari's identity. Your host will explain its significance from the outside. Tickets to enter are not included.
Strada delle Orecchiette
Pass by

Via dell'Arco Basso is one of Bari's most distinctive streets, where local women have prepared fresh orecchiette by hand for generations. Rather than a performance for visitors, this daily tradition offers an authentic glimpse into neighbourhood life, where family customs and time-honoured skills continue to be passed from one generation to the next.
Castello Normanno Svevo
Pass by

Originally built by the Normans and later strengthened by Emperor Frederick II, Castello Normanno-Svevo reflects the many cultures that have shaped Bari over the centuries. Its imposing walls stand as a reminder of the city's strategic importance along the Adriatic coast. Your host will share its fascinating history from the outside. Tickets to enter are not included.
Strada delle Orecchiette
Pass by

More than simply a famous street, Strada delle Orecchiette offers a window into the close-knit community that defines Bari Vecchia. Neighbours chat across doorways, children play in the streets and daily life unfolds much as it has for generations, creating one of the city's most memorable and authentic experiences.
Pass by

Stretching along the Adriatic coastline, Lungomare Nazario Sauro is one of Italy's most elegant seafront promenades. Locals gather here throughout the day to walk, meet friends and enjoy the sea breeze, while uninterrupted views across the Adriatic highlight the coastal setting that has shaped Bari's history and identity for centuries.
Fortino S. Antonio
Pass by

Once part of Bari's defensive walls, Fortino di Sant'Antonio Abate now offers one of the city's most enjoyable viewpoints across the Adriatic Sea. The historic terrace has become a favourite gathering place for locals, where sea breezes, panoramic views and the rhythm of the waterfront come together to capture Bari's enduring relationship with the coast.
