Overview
Begin your adventure at the Monastery of Jerónimos, an exquisite late‑Gothic masterpiece in the striking Manueline style. Next, make your way to the iconic Belém Tower a 16th century stronghold that once defended the Tagus River and marked the embarkation point for Portugal’s intrepid explorers. Just a short stroll away lies the Monument to the Discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos).
Cross over the 25 de Abril Bridge to reach the Christ the King statue, which rewards visitors with sweeping panoramas over Lisbon. Pause for a leisurely lunch at a traditional Portuguese eatery to sample genuine local dishes a tasty homage to the country’s rich culinary legacy.
Head to the city’s center and step into Praça do Comércio also known as Terreiro do Paço the historic square built on the grounds of the former Royal Palace. Finally, wind down your day in the neighborhood of Alfama, where narrow, tile‑adorned lanes lead you through breathtaking views and an atmosphere steeped in history.
