First opened to visitors in 1964, this fascinating labyrinth was carved by the ancient villagers of Enegüp (modern-day Özkonak), who built their homes around nearly a hundred interconnected tunnels. Narrow, sloping corridors lead to chambers that once served as kitchens, stables, cellars, and shelters — some of which are still used today by locals through access points in their courtyards. Originally spanning 8 subterranean levels, only 4 are currently open to the public, with rooms clustered around ingenious ventilation shafts that allowed entire communities to survive underground for extended periods. Hotel pick-up is available from all accommodations in Göreme, Ürgüp, Çavuşin, Avanos, Uçhisar, Ortahisar, Nar and Nevşehir — in other words, the entire Cappadocia region is covered.

If you choose the Small Group Tour, pick-up will take place between 09:00 and 10:00 AM, depending on your hotel location.
