What to expect

Starting at Viale Vittorio Emanuele II at the foot of Bergamo's upper city, enter your 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message into the free Explorial app and begin a self-guided trail through one of Italy's finest medieval hilltop towns.

Along the Mura Veneziane — the UNESCO-listed Venetian walls that ring the entire upper city — you'll tackle riddles about the military engineering that kept Bergamo independent for 350 years.

In the magnificent Piazza Vecchia, often called the most beautiful piazza in Italy, challenges test your knowledge of the Palazzo della Ragione and the Torre Civica.

At the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, you'll study the extraordinary inlaid stone floor and the Baroque Colleoni chapel attached to its flank.
