The Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. Those life-size figures were uncovered by peasants in 1974 when digging a well and then became the major archaeological discovery of the 20th century. For 2,200 years, the Xi’an terracotta warriors silently guarded the tomb of Qin Shihuang, the first Emperor of China.
