After registration, the trek begins through a lush rainforest, where you'll likely spot colobus monkeys and enjoy the sounds of diverse bird species. The path is often muddy and slippery but offers a captivating start to the adventure. After about 5-7 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Machame Camp (2,835m), where you'll rest for the night.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Kilimanjaro National Park
7h
The day begins with a steep climb up a rocky ridge, leaving behind the forest canopy for heather and moorland. You'll enjoy stunning views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes. The trail continues up a rocky ridge onto the Shira Plateau, where you can appreciate panoramic views and glimpses of Kibo Peak. After 4-6 hours of trekking, you reach Shira Camp (3,750m) for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Kilimanjaro National Park

Today's trek involves ascending to the Lava Tower (4,630m), a significant acclimatization point, and then descending to Barranco Camp (3,900m). The trail passes through a semi-desert and rocky landscape, offering spectacular views of the Western Breach and the Barranco Wall. Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
Kilimanjaro National Park
7h
Begin the day by climbing the challenging Barranco Wall, a nearly vertical climb requiring some rock scrambling but offering exhilarating views. After conquering the wall, continue across ridges and valleys with breathtaking scenery of the Southern Ice Fields. The trek continues through a rocky and barren landscape toward Barafu Camp (4,673m). After 7-9 hours of trekking, you will reach Barafu Camp, where you'll rest, have an early dinner, and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

At midnight, you'll begin the final push to the summit under the stars, trekking through a challenging mix of scree and snow. After 6-8 hours, you will reach Stella Point (5,739m), where a short rest allows you to witness the sunrise. A further push of about an hour brings you to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, you’ll begin the descent to Mweka Camp (3,068m), which takes about 4-5 hours, where you'll have your final night on the mountain.
Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
Kilimanjaro National Park
5h
The final day is a descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m), which usually takes about 3-4 hours. You'll receive a certificate of achievement at the gate before being transferred back to Moshi for a much-needed rest and celebration of your successful climb.
