We’ll start by exploring the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque from the outside, where I’ll share its fascinating history, unique architecture, and importance as one of Marrakech’s most iconic landmarks. From there, we’ll continue our journey through the vibrant Medina, discovering its rich history, hidden corners, traditional souks, local culture, and fascinating stories that bring the city to life.

Here, you’ll discover the lively atmosphere of the square, with its traditional storytellers, street performers, musicians, fresh orange juice stalls, and local food vendors. We may also see the famous snake charmers and, depending on the time of day, other traditional performers who bring this historic square to life.

I’ll explain the history and cultural significance of Jemaa el-Fnaa and share fascinating stories about how it has been a gathering place for locals and visitors for centuries. You’ll have time to take photos and experience the unique energy of Marrakech before we continue exploring the Medina together.
  3. Medina of Marrakesh
    30m
We’ll make a cultural stop at a traditional Berber pharmacy, where you’ll discover Morocco’s natural remedies, medicinal herbs, aromatic oils, and traditional beauty products. We’ll also explore the wonderful world of Moroccan spices and learn why Marrakech is famous for its rich spice heritage.

This stop is completely free of charge, and there is absolutely no pressure or obligation to buy anything. You’re welcome to learn, ask questions, and enjoy the experience without purchasing anything. Our goal is to share the authentic culture and traditions of Marrakech with you!

We’ll explore the different areas where local artisans and merchants work, learning how these specialised markets have been important centres of trade for centuries. I’ll share stories about the history of Marrakech’s souks, the traditional techniques used by Moroccan craftspeople, and how these skills are passed down from one generation to the next.

We’ll take our time discovering the different souks, understanding their unique character, and enjoying the authentic culture of Marrakech.

Our goal is to help you discover the history, craftsmanship, and traditions of the souks while enjoying a relaxed and authentic cultural experience.

Here, you’ll discover a wonderful example of traditional Moroccan and Islamic garden design, with elegant architecture, peaceful courtyards, beautiful greenery, and the soothing sound of water. I’ll explain the history of the garden, its restoration, and the importance of gardens in Moroccan and Islamic culture.

We’ll also learn about the traditional irrigation systems that have helped bring life to gardens in Marrakech for centuries. It’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy a little tranquillity away from the busy souks, and take some beautiful photos.

As we explore its magnificent courtyard, you’ll admire the intricate zellige tilework, carved cedarwood, elegant stucco decorations, and beautiful Arabic calligraphy that showcase the extraordinary skills of Moroccan artisans.

I’ll share the fascinating stories behind the madrasa’s history, its educational role, and the traditions of Islamic architecture that make this monument so special. You’ll also discover how students once lived and studied here, gaining a deeper understanding of Morocco’s rich intellectual and cultural heritage.
