What to expect

  1. 13m
Sip on a crisp local IPA while keeping an eye out for the spirits said to roam near this lively outdoor bar, built on the grounds of one of America’s most historic sites. Some guests have reported the sensation of someone brushing past them—only to turn and find no one there. Could it be a lingering patriot, still enjoying a well-earned drink after a revolution won?
  2. Independence Hall
    13m
This is where the nation was born, but some say the echoes of its past never faded. Spectral figures in colonial garb have been spotted pacing the halls, perhaps debating the fate of the nation long after their deaths. Raise a glass to the Founding Fathers—just be careful not to spill when a sudden chill rushes through the air.
  3. American Philosophical Society Museum
    13m
A place of knowledge and mystery, this library holds more than just ancient texts—it may also house spirits reluctant to leave their books behind. Some claim to have heard phantom whispers between the shelves, as if long-dead scholars are still deep in debate. Order a strong whiskey at the next stop, because you may need it to steady your nerves.
  4. 13m
This trendy bar stands on land rich with history, and some say the spirits of the revolutionaries still linger. Guests enjoying a signature cocktail like the "Ben’s Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned" have reported feeling a ghostly tap on the shoulder. The original rebels may be watching—making sure you remember the price of freedom with every sip.
  5. Carpenters' Hall
    13m
Where the First Continental Congress met, this historic hall is said to still host some of its most passionate members. A shadowy figure has been seen standing near the entrance, disappearing before anyone gets too close. Perhaps it’s just the bourbon kicking in—or maybe history refuses to be forgotten.
  6. First Bank of the United States
    13m
The spirit of Alexander Hamilton himself may still roam near the first national bank, where he revolutionized America’s financial system. Some claim to hear the sound of coins rattling when no one is around, as if an unseen hand is counting old debts. Grab a stiff Manhattan at the next stop—Hamilton might just approve.
  7. 13m
Once a hub for the likes of Washington and Adams, this historic tavern is now a museum—though its spirits may not have gotten the memo. The smell of pipe smoke has been detected in empty rooms, and laughter from an unseen crowd sometimes fills the air. Pour yourself a colonial-style ale and toast to those who drank here centuries before you.
  8. 13m
This Irish pub serves up Guinness and ghost stories, as guests have reported seeing shadowy figures in the upstairs windows. Legend has it a former resident never truly left, and some bartenders swear glasses move on their own. Order a strong Irish whiskey—you may need the warmth if the spirits get too close.
  9. 13m
A modern moonshine bar with a rebellious past, this spot pays homage to the Prohibition era—and maybe attracts a few lingering bootleggers, too. A few patrons have reported hearing phantom footsteps late at night, as if smugglers are still sneaking through hidden passageways. Enjoy a blackberry moonshine cocktail, but don’t be surprised if you feel a ghostly presence watching over your shoulder.
