Overview

Dhaal and Talwar, an ancient royal weapon which was once used by royalty in wars, are now preserved in museums and exhibitions as a symbol of power and heritage. The art of engraving on metal weapons represents family crests, royal symbols, and significant designs that reflect royal customs. Master artist, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Parihar and his family have preserved this art for over 250 years.
This workshop offers a deep dive into royal engraving art and gives you the chance to create your own masterpiece under the guidance of the artist. The art piece you create will be a unique souvenir, along with a certificate to remember your experience.

What to expect

This immersive workshop offers a hands-on experience where you’ll engage directly in the engraving process, guided by the artist, to carefully craft your own design on metal. Through an interactive learning session, you’ll gain insight into the complex techniques used to preserve this ancient art form. Under expert guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to choose your own pattern and engrave it, finishing your work to perfection. At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home your own engraved masterpiece as a unique souvenir, along with a certificate of completion. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to purchase artworks directly from the artist’s collection. To ensure a fully accessible experience, bilingual assistance in both English and Hindi is provided, with translators available upon request.
