Overview

Exclusive access to untouched landscapes: The journey goes beyond paved roads into the remote Asterousia Mountains, offering a sense of discovery and connection with unspoiled nature.

360° sunset panoramas: Few tours combine a short, scenic hike with a summit view where you can see Mesara Valley and the Libyan Sea,especially timed perfectly for sunset.

Cultural immersion: Travelers witness authentic Cretan pastoral life — shepherds, grazing goats, and traditional villages like Sternes and Asimi — and enjoy genuine local experiences, like Greek coffee on the mountaintop and meals at a traditional kafeneio.

Comfort meets adventure: Fully equipped Land Rover Discovery 3 vehicles ensure a smooth, safe ride while still reaching remote areas that most tourists never see.

Memorable storytelling moments: Every element — from the climb, the coffee ritual, the sunset, to the evening village meal — is designed to create lasting memories that go beyond a typical sightseeing tour.

What to expect

  1. 2h
Passing the traditional village of Sternes on a scenic dirt track, you encounter shepherd shelters and grazing sheep and goats, a living reflection of the island’s centuries-old pastoral culture, while dramatic views open toward the fertile Mesara Valley, dotted with olive groves and vineyards that trace back to the Minoan era.

A short 15-minute hike brings you to the summit of Kofinas, rising 1,231 meters above sea level. From this breathtaking viewpoint, a 360-degree panorama unfolds: the vast Mesara Valley to the north, the endless blue of the Libyan Sea to the south. As the sun descends, take in the serenity of the mountains while sipping traditional Greek coffee, witnessing the sky and sea transform into golden and crimson hues.
