In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at the Grand Hotel Beijing.
Your first stop is Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest urban central square.
From Tiananmen Gate, you will walk to the Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in the world. It houses 9,999.5 rooms and boasts a history of more than 600 years.
Afterwards, we will travel to the Temple of Heaven by subway or public bus.
At lunchtime, your guide will take you to a nearby local restaurant close to the Temple of Heaven to try authentic local food (lunch at your own expense). Then you will visit the Temple of Heaven, the site where ancient emperors offered sacrifices to the God of Heaven. You can often see many local elderly residents dancing, singing and practising Tai Chi on the square, which makes for a lovely sight.
The tour concludes at the East Gate of the Temple of Heaven. You may take the subway back to your hotel from there.
