Feel the adrenaline rush as you speed across the sparkling waters aboard our high-speed RIB boat. Take in panoramic views of the archipelago’s pristine landscapes and rugged coastline as our expert guides navigate through the scenic views. Your guide will give you the stories about the historic sites and houses you will pass, as well as the history of the archipelago.

After an invigorating ride, step ashore on Grinda Island to experience the archipelago’s natural beauty. Grinda is a nature reserve owned by the Archipelago Foundation, so there’s no privately owned properties on the island. What to expect

  1. Stockholm Archipelago
    Pass by
    Welcome to the Stockholm archipelago!
Just a few minutes away from the city of Stockholm, the archipelago begins. With nearly 30,000 islands, islets and rocks - from Öregrund in the north to Landsort in the south - each with its own character. Rugged nature blends with wooded islands, rocky cliffs and sandy beaches. Explore uninhabited islets as well as islands with new communities and ancient villages, where large houses and small cottages stand side by side.
  2. Vaxholm
    Pass by
Vaxholm, is often referred to as the capital of the archipelago. People here have lived off herring fishing for many generations. In the 1500s, King Gustav Vasa decided to put the defence of Stockholm's inlet here. It was the beginning of what would be almost 500 years of military history for Vaxholm residents. The Citadel still stands on the strait just outside the city. The old fortress was its own little society populated by senior military offers and their wives, soldiers, servants and prisoners. Toward the end of the 1800's, Vaxholm became a popular resort area for Stockholm's socialites. It was also around then that the city became known for its Vaxholm herring - a delicacy that is still served today at local restaurants.
  3. Grinda
    2h
Grinda is a charming destination for the whole family. The island, also a nature reserve, is owned and managed by the Archipelago Foundation. There are nice and child-friendly bathing areas at both the southern and northern steamboat piers. The island also has several beautiful viewpoints. Take a stroll and enjoy the tranquility and nature. At the Grinda Gård farm, you can see chickens, cows and sheep in their natural environments. In the farm shop, which is open on certain days during the summer, you can buy eggs, vegetables, meat and sheepskin. Grinda also has a guest harbour, the pier restaurant "Framfickan", the inn Grinda Wärdshus, a general store and café. Welcome to Grinda.
