Gold Reef City is actually a combination of a Theme Park and a Life Museum of a Victorian Architecture depicting the story of Gold.

and the tour of historical Victorian style museum homes, including the manager' s home housing the bioscope, show casing how life was during the mining period.
The story of Gold doesn’t get more real than descending 75 meters underground to discover the riches of South Africa’s history on an underground mine tour or witnessing the magnificent glow of a live gold pour.
