Depart your centrally located Nairobi hotel around 6am for a three-and-a-half-hour morning drive through lush tea and coffee estates. This small group tour’s first stop is at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Established by an agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary provides a lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. The sanctuary currently has more than 30 resident chimpanzees in natural enclosures. During your visit, you’ll learn about the resident chimpanzees, and have a chance to spot them as the approach a feeding platform. Next you’ll enjoy a game drive across the open plains of the nearby Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The reserve is home to reticulated giraffes, zebras, African elephants, cape buffalo, warthogs, lions, leopards, and many, many more, including over 500 bird species. Lunch (at your own expense)
