The external decorative richness is nothing compared to the internal one.
You will be overwhelmed, as Richard Wagner did, by the beauty of marbles, of the statues, of the sculpture carved by Donatello, Michelangelo and Bernini (the three great sculptors have worked here!), of the little jem, the Piccolomini Library.
But you don't have to look only up, but also to look down. Indeed, one of the Cathedral's wonders is its floor which is a wonderful book of history, teology and philosophty.
