Overview
As your cruise ship stop in Le Havre for the day, take the time to plan a visit to Monet House and Gardens in Giverny, and then continue on to Rouen, the capital and birthplace of Normandy, for an immersion in art and medieval history.
A fair balance between free time and a gentle guidance if you so wish, Rouen’s historic centre is also packed with tempting shops and restaurants, and great weekly markets and you may also want to indulge yourselves in some of its numerous culinary temptations. Giverny will lure you with its art galleries, and while you will visit the gardens on your own - we provide fast entrance tickets - you can also ask us to accompany you in the village to show you the highlights.

The famous water lily ponds and colourful gardens created by the Master of Impressionism, Claude Monet, at his home in Giverny, close to Paris and Rouen, gave him his greatest artistic inspiration and have made this tiny river Seine-side village famous all over the world.

Rouen, situated on the banks of the River Seine, is Normandy’s vibrant, historic and cultural capital. Monet’s famous depictions of Rouen Cathedral have made this vast edifice many visitors’ favourite building in the city, but there are also many fine museums to explore, not to mention the Gros Horloge clock tower, France’s oldest inn La Couronne and the beautiful modern church dedicated to Joan of Arc.
You will have time to look at the historical center, either on your own or gently guided by your accompanying driver.
