Overview
Pico Island is one of the Azores’ most extraordinary treasures – a place where the raw forces of nature are still visible in every curve of the landscape. This journey invites travelers to explore an island forged by fire, shaped by tradition, and celebrated for its wine culture, unlike anywhere else in the world.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
UNESCO Volcanic Vineyards & Pico’s Wine Culture: Explore the island’s UNESCO‑protected vineyards, a landscape unlike anywhere else in the world. Thousands of black basalt stone walls create a labyrinth that protects the vines from sea spray and wind. Taste local grape varieties like Verdelho and Arinto dos Açores, and experience the deep cultural heritage behind these centuries‑old winemaking traditions.
Natural Lava Pools & Volcanic Coastline: Discover Pico’s dramatic coastline, shaped entirely by ancient lava flows. Visit natural lava pools with crystal‑clear Atlantic waters, coastal villages built from basalt stone.
