If you ever wanted to do a wildlife safari in a real jungle, as a day trip from Bangalore, this is your tour! As a vital wildlife corridor bridging the Eastern & Western Ghats, this forest offers a chance to spot elephants, Bisons, leopards, wild dogs, deer, peacocks & tigers, in their natural habitat. And not to mention plenty of birdlife as well.
This exclusive itinerary also includes a visit to a Tibetan settlement in the midst of lush countryside.
Crucial Trip Details:
• Wildlife Sightings: Spotting animals is a matter of chance. On an average, tigers & leopards are seen once a week, while wild elephants appear once every 5 days.
• Safari Bookings: Permits are limited & strictly first-come, first-served. If tickets sell out, you can change dates or cancel.
• Expert Guides: A forest department professional accompanies you on the safari, while your driver guides you through the Tibetan settlement temples & pagodas.
• One or Two Safaris: Choose between 1 or 2 safaris on a given day.

    The second biggest Tibetan Refugee Settlement in India is in the State of Karnataka where they are spread over 3 areas - Bylakuppe, Mundgod and Dhondeling.
    Dhondeling Tibetan Settlement is an enchanting cultural sanctuary hidden in the lush hills of Odeiyarpalaya, Kollegal. Established in 1974, this vibrant community spans roughly 3,000 acres and is home to over 4,500 residents. Divided into 5 villages, Dhondeling offers international visitors an authentic immersion into Tibetan heritage, spirituality, and resilience just 180 km from Bangalore.
    The crown jewel of the settlement is the majestic Dzogchen Monastery, a stunning architectural marvel where guests can witness traditional Buddhist rituals and hear the soothing chants of hundreds of monks. Colorful monasteries, temples and pagodas rise above the lush green locales witnessed by mountains and jungles all around in this very scenic place.

    P G Palya Wildlife Safari is a thrilling, untamed wilderness destination hidden within the Male Mahadeshwara Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. This newly launched Wildlife Safari spans a rugged 18-20 km route through dense, pristine dry-deciduous forests.
    The sanctuary serves as a vital ecological bridge, home to over 700 wild Asian elephants and an estimated 10 to 12 Bengal tigers roaming its deep valleys. On the 3 PM evening safari, travelers step into custom open-top 4x4 jeeps for an immersive 1.5 hour expedition. The timing is immaculate; as the afternoon heat fades, the jungle awakens. Guests stand a high chance of spotting massive Indian Gaurs (Bison) weighing up to 800 kg, herds of spotted chital, sambar deer, rare monitor lizards, plenty of birds & the elusive wild dogs near the forest department’s concrete water holes.
    The safari trail delivers more than just wildlife tracking. It offers sweeping, panoramic views where the majestic BR Hills and MM Hills ranges converge on the horizon.
