Overview

Drakolimni of Tymfi is the most famous of all alpine lakes that exist in the Greek mountains and the most popular. It covers an area of 8Km2 and a depth that does not exceed 3 meters.
It was formed by the activity of the last glaciers in Greece and its waters are fuelled by the melting of the snow.

What to expect

Hiking to the Dragon lakes of Tymfi and Smolikas.
At the end of the hike, at around 2,000 meters altitude, there are Dragon lakes where visitors may take a break to absorb the magnificent scenery. Those seeking adventure could swim in the lake along with the Alpine Triton (Ichthyosaura alpestris).
