Overview

Embark on an unforgettable journey from Amman to Petra, a captivating city nestled just 140 miles (225 kilometers) to the south. Petra, once a bustling hub at the crossroads of ancient Arabian trade routes, beckons travelers to uncover its mesmerizing secrets and explore its enchanting landscape.

Your adventure truly begins with a descent into the Siq, a dramatically narrow and winding passage that served as the grand main entrance into this legendary historic city. This breathtaking canyon, stretching an impressive three-quarters of a mile (1.2 kilometers), is a natural masterpiece. On either side, towering cliffs, reaching heights of up to 263 feet (80 meters), majestically frame the pathway, creating an awe-inspiring natural corridor that gradually reveals glimpses of the wonders within. The anticipation builds with every step, as the Siq's dramatic embrace sets the stage for the unparalleled architectural and historical marvels awaiting you in Petra.
