Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, is a breathtaking city carved into rose-red cliffs by the Nabataeans more than 2,000 years ago. Founded as early as the 6th century B.C., this remarkable site once thrived as the heart of a powerful trading empire that reached as far as Syria.

Your journey begins with a walk through the narrow, winding Siq, a dramatic gorge that opens to the iconic Treasury, Petra’s most famous landmark. From there, continue to the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the impressive Pharaoh’s Castle, each telling a story of Petra’s grandeur and legacy.

After a day immersed in history and wonder, return to your hotel in Petra for an overnight stay.

Located just north of Petra, Little Petra is a fascinating Nabataean archaeological site with rock-carved buildings and narrow passageways. Its architecture mirrors that of the main Petra site but on a smaller scale, offering insight into the Nabataeans’ transition from a nomadic Bedouin lifestyle to a prosperous agricultural and trading civilization.

With fewer crowds and a tranquil atmosphere, Little Petra provides a more intimate and relaxed exploration, while still holding UNESCO World Heritage status.
