Overview

For over 12 years, I have worked with world-famous photographers and documentary makers arranging their experiences to provide amazing images around India, with a specialty in the complex, chaotic and exceedingly magical City of Lights, Varanasi - the holiest city of India.
Over this time, I have found that the mobile phone camera provides remarkable accessibility to the people on a more instant, comfortable, and humane level. Together, we will find out how to take photos of the holy men, everyday lives of workers, markets, industry, street scenes and the citizens of this incredible and diverse culture. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with those who are interested in learning to create beautiful images, whether you are a professional photographer, or a camera enthusiast or hobbyist.

What to expect

8-hour photography day (timing to be
discussed)
You’ll learn and practice engaging with human subjects, identifying composition issues (light, focus, colors themes, distance from subject, background) I’ll take you to streets filled with everyday life (cooking, goods transport, play, education, construction, spiritual practices) We’ll share what worked and what didn’t in our mobile phone photography.
