Day 1: Nairobi to Hell's Gate National Park to Lake Naivasha

   Your hotel pickup happens at 7am in Nairobi, then you'll drive down the Great Rift Valley with a photo stop at the viewpoint. By 9:30am you're at Hell's Gate where you can choose between a safari vehicle game drive or a 7km bike ride through the park followed by a walking safari through the gorges. After that, you'll visit a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life, then grab lunch at the resort. The afternoon includes a 1-hour boat tour on Lake Naivasha looking for hippos and birds, with a 4pm return to your hotel

Day 2: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara game reserve

   After an early breakfast, your driver takes you to Masai Mara's open grassland. This reserve has excellent game viewing and bird-watching, and you'll arrive in time for lunch at camp. From there, you'll head out for an afternoon game drive to start exploring the reserve and its wildlife

Day 4: Masai Mara game reserve to Serengeti National Park

   An early morning game drive lets you see the early hunters, then you'll have breakfast. After that, you depart for Serengeti through the Isebania border, arriving at lunchtime to process visas. Your Tanzanian driver meets you with a 4WD Land Cruiser, then you take an evening game drive en route to the lodge before checking in for the night.

   Morning game drives happen in Ngorongoro crater before you depart for Moshi. The journey takes you from the crater landscape down to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro where you'll settle into your lodge for the night

Day 8: Moshi to Machame camp

   You'll drive from your Moshi hotel to Machame Gate, passing through the village of Machame on the lower mountain slopes. After leaving the park gate, you'll walk through dense rainforest on a winding trail up a ridge until you reach Machame Camp at 9,350 feet elevation.

Day 9: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

   You'll leave the rainforest glades and continue on an ascending path up a steep, rocky ridge. The trek takes you through heather and open moorlands on the Shira Plateau, then across a large river gorge before arriving at Shira 2 Camp at 12,500 feet elevation.

Day 10: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

   You'll continue east up a ridge then head southeast towards the Lava Tower, a 300-foot tall volcanic rock formation. After that, you'll descend through the Senecio Forest down to Barranco Camp at 13,000 feet. The day begins and ends at the same elevation, but the higher altitude acclimatization time helps your body adjust.

Day 11: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

   You start by descending into a ravine to the base of the Great Barranco Wall, then climb the steep 900-foot cliff. From the top, you'll cross a series of hills and valleys before descending sharply into Karanga Valley. One more steep climb leads to Karanga Camp. This shorter acclimatization day helps you adjust to higher altitude.

Day 12: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

   The final summit push starts very early at midnight. You'll trek through the night passing through Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,896 meters, the highest point in Africa. After relaxing and watching the sunrise, you'll start descending to Mweka Hut where you'll spend the night recovering from your summit achievement.

Day 13: Mweka Gate to Moshi

   After breakfast, you'll descend from Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate. From there, you'll drive to your local accommodation in Moshi or directly to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward travels, concluding your Mount Kilimanjaro climbing experience.

After check-in and lunch, you head out for an afternoon game drive in this vast park.

Day 17: Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park
