What to expect

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – lake Nakuru National park
  1. Lake Nakuru National Park
    8h · Admission ticket included
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or residence in Nairobi. Drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with a stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, lions and diverse birdlife. Enjoy lunch at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the park's woodland, grassland and lakeshore areas while searching for wildlife before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve
  1. Masai Mara National Reserve
    8h · Admission ticket included
After breakfast, enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, giving you another opportunity to spot rhinos and other wildlife. Depart later for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, travelling through the beautiful Rift Valley and Maasai countryside. The Nakuru–Mara transfer is generally treated as a substantial travel day, so an early departure is recommended.

Arrive in the Mara around lunchtime, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the spectacular Mara savannah. Look for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and, with luck, cheetahs and leopards.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Full-Day Game Drive
  1. Masai Mara National Reserve
    8h · Admission ticket included
Today is dedicated entirely to the Masai Mara National Reserve. After an early breakfast, set off with your experienced safari guide for a full-day exploration of the reserve.

Explore the open grasslands, riverine forests and wildlife-rich areas of the Mara. Search for the Big Five and the many other species that make the Mara one of Kenya's premier wildlife destinations. You may enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your game drive into the afternoon.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation. Depending on the season, you may also have an opportunity to witness the spectacular Great Migration.
Day 4: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha
  1. Lake Naivasha
    8h · Admission ticket included
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and drive towards Lake Naivasha, one of the beautiful freshwater lakes of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive around lunchtime and check into your lodge.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat safari on Lake Naivasha, where you can see hippos, African fish eagles and numerous water birds. You can also include a guided walk on Crescent Island, where giraffes, zebras and antelopes can often be seen.

Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful lakeside environment.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
  1. Amboseli National Park
    8h · Admission ticket included
After breakfast, depart Lake Naivasha and travel south towards Amboseli National Park. This is one of the longer transfer days of the safari, so an early departure is recommended. The route takes you through the changing landscapes of the Rift Valley and southern Kenya. Long-distance connections between Naivasha and Amboseli are normally planned as a dedicated transfer day.

Arrive in Amboseli in the afternoon, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch if timing permits. Later, embark on an afternoon game drive with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting. Amboseli is particularly renowned for its large elephant herds and open landscapes.
Day 6: Amboseli full day game drive
  1. Amboseli National Park
    8h · Admission ticket included
Wake up early for an unforgettable safari experience in Amboseli National Park. Early morning is an excellent time for wildlife viewing and, on clear days, magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Explore the park's plains and wetlands while searching for elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch or return to the lodge for lunch before continuing with an afternoon game drive.

As the sun begins to set, return to your lodge for dinner and your final night in Amboseli.
Day 7: Amboseli -Tsavo West national park
  1. 8h · Admission ticket included
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel towards Tsavo West National Park. The transfer is relatively short compared with some of the other legs of this safari; Amboseli to Tsavo West is roughly 150 km and commonly takes around 3–3.5 hours depending on the route and road conditions.

Enter Tsavo West and begin your safari as you make your way towards your lodge. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive through Tsavo's dramatic volcanic landscapes, looking for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes and other wildlife.

You can also visit the famous Mzima Springs, known for its clear waters, hippos and crocodiles.
Day 8: Tsavo West National Park - Nairobi
  1. 8h · Admission ticket included
Wake up early for your final game drive in Tsavo West National Park. This is your last opportunity to photograph Kenya's spectacular wildlife and landscapes.

Return to the lodge for breakfast before checking out and beginning your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through southern Kenya.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon/evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
