1 Day ShoeBill tracking tour is a short exhilarating bird safari that takes you to lush Mabamba swamp for an incredible encounter with the pre-historic shoebill stork.
The swamp is every birder’s dream destination that hosts over 260 bird species, for example, shoebill storks, papyrus gonolek, herons, ibis, kingfishers, sunbirds, weaver birds, saddle-billed storks, and fish eagles among others.
Bird watching is the main highlight of the Mabamba Swamp but apart from the shoebill storks and other bird species, you can spot countless butterfly species that will leave you awestruck.

Mabamba Swamp shoebill Watching Entebbe

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel by your professional driver-guide and begin a 1-hour drive from Kampala to Mabamba Swamp.
Upon arrival, you will be joined by a knowledgeable local guide who will lead you on a 2-hour canoe excursion through the dense swamp vegetation in search of the magnificent and elusive Shoebill Stork, as well as other colorful bird species and beautiful butterflies.
You will have excellent opportunities to capture memorable moments as the shoebill hunts for its prey in the swamp waters, while enjoying the soothing melodies of birds and the tranquil sounds of nature.
After this rewarding experience, you will retreat for lunch at a selected restaurant or lodge, then embark on the return journey to Kampala.
