Overview

Olive oil has been an essential part of Greek cuisine and culture for thousands of years. Rich in antioxidants, beneficial fatty acids and vitamins, Extra Virgin Olive Oil is one of the key ingredients of the Mediterranean Diet and remains deeply connected to the Greek way of life.
Your experience begins with a visit to the Mykonian Farm, where you will see the trees up close and learn about their cultivation and importance in Greek tradition.
You will then take part in a guided olive oil tasting led by our experienced olive oil taster. Using your senses of smell and taste, you will discover the aromas and flavours of selected Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oils and learn what the term “Extra Virgin” really means.
The experience also introduces you to the important role of olive oil in the Mediterranean Diet and its nutritional, health and beauty benefits. Informative, interactive and enjoyable, it is an ideal activity to share with family and friends.

What to expect

Travelers visit the nearby Mykonian Farm, learn about olive trees and olive oil production, and take part in a guided tasting of selected Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oils. They learn how to identify aromas, flavors, quality characteristics, and common defects, while discovering the role of olive oil in the Mediterranean Diet.

Meeting and pickup

Pickup details

• All clients are kindly requested to send their preferred meeting point and location until 3:00pm of the previous date. Should they fail to do so, our company will do anything it can in order to locate them (telephone, email, etc), however it is not responsible for any failure to meet them.
• Meeting points can be hotels anywhere on the island, the old port or the new port. The information necessary is either the hotel name or the name of the cruise ship they are arriving with.
• For any other accommodation, clients are requested to send us a google map, a nearby hotel or any information that would help us locate them.
• Any delay of behalf of the client (up until 15 minutes that we will be waiting for them) affects the transfer schedule and disrupts the smooth conduct of the tour/activity.
