The Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Pyramid of Cheops, is the largest and oldest of the three pyramids at the Giza Plateau. Built around 2580–2560 BC during the Fourth Dynasty for Pharaoh Khufu, it is the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.
Originally standing at 146.6 meters (481 feet), the pyramid is now about 138.8 meters (455 feet) tall due to the loss of its outer casing stones. Constructed from an estimated 2.3 million limestone blocks, it remained the tallest man-made structure on Earth for nearly 3,800 years.
