Overview

Livorno is the port of Tuscany, a lively city, born as a welcoming port for foreigner communities thanks to the Medici. It is different from the rest of Tuscany, with an interesting history as a free port in its past.
We will start from Piazza del Municipio, the dropping point for all the shuttle busses coming from the harbour.You will see how open minded was the Medici vision in creating their cities but even the great effort we made to rebuilt the historical memories after WWII, We will see the Medici Harbour, the Old Fortress, the old district “La Venezia” with its canals and buildings,
The final part will be via della Madonna known as the street of the three churches (Armenian, Greek and catholic) and the local Food Market. Authorised Guide according to the Italian Ministry of Tourism national list.

Please consider that the local food market could be closed.the afternoon, on Sundays and on Italian bank holidays

    It is literally "the big street" of the city , the central one. And even the shopping area where yu can go back after the tour and before leaving.
  5. Fortezza Vecchia

    This is the Medicean old harbor and its first military fortress. The Medici family develloped the city around this little harbour, now symbolised even by the statue of "Quattro mori". You can even see the fishermen selling their fresh products and working.

Please consider that if you book for the afternoom or on Sunday the local central market is closed to the public,

We will end at the local food market, the heartof the city. And do not worry: it is very close toyour shuttle bus stop to go back to the cruise area
