Overview

Your journey begins at the House of the Wooden Partition, admiring a rare, intact wooden screen absent in Pompeii. Next, step inside the House of Neptune and Amphitrite to view lavish private baths and breathtaking glass-paste wall mosaics. Continuing into the Urban Baths, trace Roman engineering through subfloor hypocaust heating in the calidarium, tepidarium, and frigidarium. Marvel at aristocratic wealth while exploring the multi-level seaside House of the Deer and House of the Bicentenary, filled with vibrant frescoes and grand courtyards. Finally, walk down to the ancient beachfront boathouses (Fornici), where residents sought refuge during the 79 AD Vesuvius eruption, experiencing the poignant history of their final hours.
