Your adventure starts with a speedboat pickup at your hotel pontoon or at the Vaitape pier, in front of the Tourism Office. As you cruise across the lagoon, enjoy the views of Bora Bora's iconic mountain before arriving at the dive site where the famous yellow helmets are waiting.
Your certified scuba diving instructor will walk you through a safety briefing, explaining what to expect and how to make the most of your 30-minute underwater walk. No swimming, scuba diving, or snorkeling experience needed.
At 6 feet (3 meters) deep, the helmet becomes surprisingly light and you are free to explore the coral garden at your own pace, surrounded by parrot fish, butterfly fish, clown fish, moray eels, stingrays, and more. Keep an eye out for Coco Chanel, a resident stingray and local celebrity who may just photobomb your souvenir photos.
After 30 unforgettable minutes underwater, board the speedboat back to your pickup point. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced diver, the helmet dive in Bora Bora is an experience like no other.
