    40m
Maras salt mines, Moray and Chincheero Textiles half-day tour.

At the agreed-upon time, our professional guide and tour vehicle will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley (private tours only). You’ll then travel for 40 minutes to the beautiful ancient Inca town of Chinchero, where you’ll participate in the Inca textile process (washing, spinning, dyeing, and weaving camelid wool). If you’d like to take home a handmade garment as a souvenir, you can purchase it directly from the artisan (optional). Here you’ll also see locals in their traditional attire, and on Sundays, there’s a local market where bartering is still practiced, just as it was in Inca times.
The visit to the vast agricultural terraces of Chinchero and the colonial church is only included in the private tour.
  2. Maras
    1h
After Chinchero, continue your tour to the Maras salt mines and observe the industrial salt extraction process.
Here, salt extraction has been practiced since pre-Inca times, and today members of the local community continue to harness the saltwater spring, channeling it through small canals to more than 4,000 pits, where the process of evaporation and solidification takes place. The salt is harvested for various purposes: consumption, agriculture, livestock, and medicine. You can take some salt home in small bags sold at the local shops (optional).
  3. Maras Moray Tours
1h · Admission ticket not included
    Moray archaeological site Guided tour.

Continue your tour to the Inca experimental agricultural center of Moray and admire the masterpiece of the ancient inhabitants. The Incas took advantage of natural depressions to build ring-shaped terraces and created 20 microclimates to adapt the plants to the new ecosystem.

Finally, return to the city of Cusco - Hotel.
