Overview

Therapy guides will lead you along the forest therapy road in Sasaguri-machi. You can take a leisurely stroll along the therapy road while being given tips on how to feel nature with all five senses. Listen to the sounds of the forest, touch the plants and breathe deeply. Experience a healing time in nature where your senses are gradually sharpened.

For lunch, a 'Sasaguri pilgrimage meal set' is available. Sasaguri is associated with Kobo-Daishi Kukai. The motif of this meal is the Mandala, which is a prayer for the peace of the guests together with the history and culture of this land. In the same way that Dainichi Nyorai is positioned in the centre of a lotus flower with eight petals at the centre of the Mandala of the Tathagata, surrounded by four tathagatas and four bodhisattvas, the Sasaguri pilgrimage meal set also has a large bowl in the centre with eight smaller dishes around it.
The dishes are made from seasonal local ingredients and are gentle on the body.

What to expect

Sasaguri Town is located about 30 minutes by car or 15 minutes by train from Fukuoka City, the gateway to travel in Kyushu. This is a half-day forest therapy plan to heal in the rich nature of Sasaguri.
A certified guide will lead you along a well-maintained forest therapy road. The guide will guide you through the therapy, not just walking, to enhance your health and recreational benefits, so enjoy your time in the forest while using all your senses.
After the therapy, a healthy and tasty lunch will be prepared, which is unique to Sasaguri with its pilgrimage culture.
