Join a professional trifolao and his trained dog as you explore woodland trails in search of the region’s most prized culinary treasure while learning about truffle varieties, and the fascinating bond between hunter and dog and hunting techniques passed down through generations. The experience ends at a local wine shop for a guided tasting of selected local wines paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top, offering the perfect introduction to the renowned winemaking heritage.

What to expect

All tours begin in Monforte d'Alba, where you'll meet your guide. You'll need your own transportation to follow the guide on a 10-minute drive to the forest area and later to the Enoteca. (A transfer service from Monforte is available upon request for an additional fee, with limited spots.) The experience starts with an introduction to truffles, covering their types, growth, and where they can be found. Upon reaching the forest, you'll meet the truffle hunter and his specially trained dogs before starting the hunt. Please note that any truffles found during the hunt are not included in the price. The walk takes place in a wooded area, so comfortable, outdoor-appropriate clothing is recommended, especially during the colder months. If needed, rubber boots will be provided.
