Birding Pipeline Road from Panama City or Gamboa

1. Panama Canal
   Pass by
   We will drive along the Panama Canal to the mid way point, the town of Gamboa, where we will do some of the best birding in Panama along the Pipeline Road.
2. 4h
   - First stop in the wetlands near the entrance to Pipeline
   - Then to the fragmented forest and forest edges near the entrance to Pipeline Road.
   - And continue In search of birds in the forest along Pipeline Road inside Soberania National Park for some of the best birding in Panama!
3. Panama Rainforest Discovery Center
   2h · Admission ticket included
   Enchanting place located next to Pipeline Road private trails, with observation tower 32m high, hummingbirds feeders, monkeys, frogs and hundreds of chanting birds.
   Early access to the tower gives you the advantage to spot canopy birds, raptors and more.
4. Parque Nacional Soberania
   Pass by
   We will actually spend most of the day inside the park. We will drive through it on the way to and from Gamboa, and both Pipeline Road and the Discover Center Tower are insdie Soberania National Park.

Pickup details

We pick up from all hotels/airbnbs in Panama City's Metropolitan Area, and from Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal. We will coordinate exact pickup times on the days prior to the tour.

• Light clothing is recommended: cotton shirts or t-shirts - earth colors preferable- long (preferable) and short pants, poncho, hiking shoes, hat, insect repellent and sun block. Dress as for tropical hot humid weather and be ready for rain.
• Bring binoculars, scope (optional), field guide, notebook and camera (optional).
