Overview

Lebanon has been producing wine for over 6,000 years — and the beautiful Bekaa Valley, sitting at 1,000 metres above sea level between two mountain ranges, is where that wonderful tradition continues today. This private day trip from Beirut takes you to three of the valley's most celebrated wineries for guided cellar tours and wine tastings that you will remember long after you return home.
Whether you are a passionate wine lover or simply curious to discover what Lebanese wine is all about, this tour is designed to be welcoming, enjoyable, and accessible to everyone. Your knowledgeable driver accompanies you throughout the day, sharing the stories of the Bekaa Valley and its remarkable wine heritage as you travel comfortably between estates. End the day with an optional lunch in Zahle — Lebanon's most celebrated food destination — before the scenic drive back to Beirut.

What to expect

  1. Beirut
    Pass by
9:00 AM — Pickup from your Beirut hotel
Your driver meets you at your hotel and heads east on the scenic Damascus highway — climbing through the Lebanese mountains as the beautiful Bekaa Valley opens up below, a vast fertile plain that has been growing grapes and producing wine since ancient times.
  2. Chateau St Thomas
1h · Admission ticket not included
Chateau Saint Thomas — a wonderful introduction to Bekaa wines
Begin your wine journey at Chateau Saint Thomas — a respected family-owned estate producing wines from vineyards at over 1,000 metres altitude in the Bekaa Valley. The high elevation, cool nights, and warm Bekaa sunshine create ideal conditions for producing wines of real character and quality. The guided cellar tour takes you through the winemaking process in a clear and accessible way, followed by a warm and welcoming tasting of their acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon, elegant whites, and full-bodied red blends. A lovely and unpretentious introduction to Lebanese wine that immediately puts all visitors at ease.
  3. Chateau Kefraya
1h · Admission ticket not included
Chateau Kefraya — one of Lebanon's most celebrated estates
Continue to Chateau Kefraya — one of the largest and most celebrated wine estates in Lebanon, with over 300 hectares of beautiful vineyards stretching across the Bekaa plain. Kefraya is renowned for its flagship Comte de M red blend — widely regarded as one of the finest wines produced in the Middle East — as well as its aromatic whites and the celebrated Muse rosé. The guided tour moves through the impressive cellars and barrel rooms before a structured and enjoyable tasting of the estate's finest wines. A truly impressive estate that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.
  4. Chateau Ksara
1h · Admission ticket not included
Chateau Ksara — Lebanon's oldest winery & Roman cave cellars
Save the most unique and most memorable for last. Chateau Ksara is Lebanon's oldest winery, founded by Jesuit monks in 1857, and its most special feature is utterly unlike anything at the previous two estates — 2 kilometres of ancient Roman cave cellars discovered beneath the winery by the Jesuits in the 19th century, where wine ages naturally at a constant temperature year-round. Walking through these fascinating ancient tunnels is a truly special experience that visitors of all ages find wonderfully memorable — part wine tour, part history lesson, entirely delightful. The tasting that follows showcases Ksara's iconic Cabernet-Syrah blends, crisp Blanc de Blancs, and beloved Sunset Rosé — a fitting and enjoyable close to a wonderful day in the Bekaa.
  5. Zahle
    1h
Lunch in Zahle — the Bride of the Bekaa
End the day in Zahle — Lebanon's most celebrated food destination, known affectionately as the Bride of the Bekaa. The famous restaurant terraces along the beautiful Bardawni River serve some of the finest Lebanese mezze in the country — generous spreads of cold and hot dishes, grilled meats, fresh bread, and local wine in a wonderfully relaxed and scenic setting. A highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyable optional finale to a memorable day.
  6. Beirut
    Pass by
Return to Beirut — approx. 5:30–6:30 PM
Your driver brings you comfortably back to Beirut with drop-off at your hotel — completing a wonderful full day through three of the Bekaa Valley's finest wine estates and one of the world's most ancient wine-producing regions.
