Overview
The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilomtere long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Day 1: MOMBASA / NAIROBI - TSAVO EAST

The safari begins at the SGR Train station. Board SGR train leaving Nairobi/Mombasa for Voi Train Station at 8:00 am. Alight at Voi train station where our driver will be waiting for you. Drive to Tsavo East National park for check in and lunch at Voi Safari Lodge with short rest. Later in the afternoon go for game drive and return back for dinner and overnight at Voi Safari Lodge.
The park which is considered one of the world’s biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast amounts of diverse wildlife that can be seen, including the famous ‘big five’ consisting of lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant and leopard. The park is also home to a great variety of bird life such as the, crowned crane, black kite and the sacred ibis. Tsavo East National Park is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau and Lugard falls.

Early in the morning you have your breakfast and go for game drive in the park as you drive out to Tsavo west national park. Tsavo West is a more popular destination on account of its magnificent scenery, Mzima Springs, rich and varied wildlife, good road system, rhino reserve, rock climbing potential and guided walks along the Tsavo River. Arrive in time for lunch, check in at Saltlick Safari Lodge You will have lunch and a short rest before you go for the afternoon game drive. Return later to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: TSAVO WEST - NAIROBI / MOMBASA

Early morning game drive in the park and later return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast check out with a short game drive as you drive to the train station to catch the train back to Nairobi/Mombasa. We can arrange for Hotel-SGR Train Station transfers in Nairobi & Mombasa
