Overview

The journey from Colombo Airport (Bandaranaike International Airport) to Kandy is a picturesque drive that takes you through some of Sri Lanka's most scenic landscapes. As you leave the bustling city of Colombo, the road winds through lush green countryside, with occasional glimpses of paddy fields and small villages.

As you approach Kandy, the terrain becomes more hilly and forested. The road snakes through the verdant hills of the central highlands, offering stunning views of tea plantations, dense jungles, and cascading waterfalls. The drive also takes you past the beautiful Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, renowned for its vast collection of orchids and other tropical flora.

The closer you get to Kandy, the more you will experience the cool, refreshing air of the highlands. Finally, you arrive in Kandy, a historic city surrounded by mountains and known for its beautiful lake and the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic.
