Overview

Discover Madaba Beyond the Postcard.

Madaba is one of the Middle East's most remarkable living museums and this intimate 2-hour walking tour with a knowledgeable local guide brings its extraordinary story to life. Walk through 2,000 years of history as you visit St. George's Church — home to the world-famous 6th century Byzantine Mosaic Map of the Holy Land — the Madaba Archaeological Park, the Archaeological Museum and the magnificent Shrine of St. John the Baptist. Climb the bell tower for rare panoramic views over the ancient rooftops of Madaba that most visitors never get to see. Along the way your local guide will take you off the beaten path — through bustling bazaars, past hidden gems and into authentic encounters with local life and traditions that no guidebook can offer. The tour is completely flexible and designed entirely around you — stop whenever you like, ask questions freely and let curiosity lead the way. This is Madaba the way locals truly experience it every day.
