Overview
Begin your experience in the heart of the city at the breathtaking Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (the Duomo). Marvel at Brunelleschi’s revolutionary dome, gaze up at the intricate marble facade, and unlock the rich history behind the spiritual centerpiece of the Renaissance.
After taking in the awe-inspiring monuments of Piazza del Duomo, wander through the charming, cobblestone alleyways toward Florence’s best-kept secrets: the buchette del vino (wine windows). First introduced in the 16th century by noble families selling wine directly from their palazzos, these tiny stone-framed portals served as historical lifelines during the plague—and have returned as one of the city's most charming rituals.
To cap off your adventure, raise a glass of fine Tuscan wine passed to you straight through an authentic Renaissance wall opening, just as Florentines have enjoyed for over 400 years.
