Overview
This tour combines two of ancient Egypt’s most sacred and atmospheric sites—Dendera and Abydos—offering a deeper, more intimate experience.
At Dendera you’ll explore the well-preserved Temple of Hathor, built mainly under Ptolemy XII and Cleopatra VII, with later Roman additions. Highlights include the classical Egyptian design (with the hypostyle hall front added by Tiberius), the relief of Cleopatra and Caesarion, and the sanatorium where pilgrims sought healing through sacred water, unguents, and dream incubation.
Abydos, one of Egypt’s holiest places, is inseparably linked to the Osiris myth of death and rebirth. It was a major pilgrimage and burial center, giving visitors a sense of ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.
Together, the two sites reveal mythology, royal propaganda, architectural excellence, and religious practice in a way few other day trips can match—away from the biggest crowds yet still rich in atmosphere and history.

Temple of Seti I: The main attraction at Abydos, this temple is dedicated to the god Osiris and was primarily constructed by Seti I and completed by his son, Ramesses II. The temple is adorned with intricate carvings, reliefs, and hieroglyphs, depicting religious scenes and the pharaohs' association with the gods.
