The principle is simple: equipped with a removable rechargeable battery and a motor fixed in the rear wheel, in the front wheel or in the crankset, electric bikes benefit from pedaling assistance allowing effortless reaching 25km/ h, to climb a hill or to relieve the legs during a too long journey. They generally have 3 to 6 levels of assistance and have a range between 50 and 80 kilometers.
