Day 1: Addis Ababa – Lalibela

Fly from Addis Ababa to Lalibela with Ethiopian Airlines, covering a distance of 700 km north of the capital. Upon arrival, embark on an unforgettable tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, recognized as one of the greatest religious and architectural wonders of the world. This remarkable complex of eleven monolithic and semi-monolithic structures is intricately carved into the mountainside and connected by a labyrinth of tunnels and passageways. Discover Bet Medhane Alem, the largest monolithic church in the world, and explore the breathtaking icon paintings and carvings that adorn these sacred sites.
Day 2: Hike Lalibela – Mount Asheton Visit Yemrehanna Kristos

In the morning, you can choose between two unique experiences:
1️⃣ Hike to Mount Asheton: Ride mules up to Mount Asheton to visit its 13th-century rock-hewn monastery. Enjoy panoramic views of Lalibela and the surrounding highlands.
2️⃣ Visit Yemrehanna Kristos Church: Take a scenic drive through Ethiopia’s stunning highland landscapes to reach Yemrehanna Kristos, a remarkable cave church that predates the churches of Lalibela. This beautifully decorated structure features an impressive wooden and stone-built façade inside a natural cave.
After either option, you will continue exploring Lalibela’s remaining churches in the afternoon, diving deeper into the spiritual and historical significance of these ancient sites.
Day 3: Lalibela – Addis Ababa

After breakfast, you will take a flight back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity for some last-minute sightseeing or shopping before your international flight.
