A highly qualified and greatly experienced guide will lead you on a journey of discovery to some of the highlights of the British Museum, including the Rosetta Stone, a relic which allowed historians to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs and consequently understand more about ancient Egyptian history. The Egyptian collection, one of the largest in the world, also features a number of mummies and a breathtaking statue of Ramses II in pink and grey granite.

You will also learn all about ancient Greek and Roman life in the department of Greece and Rome, which boasts one of the finest classical antiquity collections in existence. It contains 100,000 objects in all, including the stunning Athens Parthenon Sculptures.

Room 41 of the museum provides a fascinating look at British history, and here you will be able to admire the treasures of the Anglo-Saxon ship burial at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, England.
