Italy's pastry tradition goes far beyond tiramisù. In this hands-on class at One Day Chef — Rome's family-run cooking school — you'll travel through three regions of Italy, one recipe at a time.
At your workstation, guided by Pastry Chef Valentina Planta you'll learn to make three of the most beloved Italian sweets from scratch:
Torta Caprese — the legendary chocolate and almond cake from the island of Capri. Naturally gluten-free, intensely rich, and one of the most requested desserts in Italian homes.
Panna Cotta — silky, wobbly, and elegant. You'll master the art of plating your own individual panna cotta to take home.
Sicilian Cannoli — crispy fried shells made by hand, filled with smooth sheep's milk ricotta cream. You'll roll the dough, fry the shells, and pipe the filling yourself. The result? The real thing, not the tourist version.
At the end of the class, you'll sit down to enjoy everything you've made — and leave with a full recipe booklet so you can recreate all three desserts at home.
One Day Chef is a family-run school in the heart of Rome. We've been welcoming tourists and locals into our kitchen for over a decade — and we treat every guest like family.
