What to expect

Day 1: Preah Khan Kompong Svay
  1. Preah Khan Kompong Svay
    3h · Admission ticket included
There is little historical data about Preah Khan of Kompong Svay. French scholars argued it had been founded in the 11th century, probably by Suryavarman I. Evidence from sediment analysis suggests that the site was fully abandoned during the late 14th to 15th century, with maintenance to temples and infrastructure ceasing around the mid-14th century. It is notable for its use as a royal residence during the kingdom of Suryavarman II, and served as a military outpost for Jayavarman VII during conflicts with the Cham in the late 12th century.

Some of the theories listed by Mitch Hendrickson & Damian Evans about what Preah Khan Kompong Svay actually was include a kingdom of Khmer.
Day 2: Sombor Pre Kuk
  1. Sambor Prei Kuk
    3h · Admission ticket included
The temple was originally named Isanpura in Pali or Sanskrit, which means the city of Shiva, according to the Golden Temple inscription K-151 in the 6th-8th centuries AD. Historians define the capital of Sambor Prei Kuk, which had three kings, as it was between the 6th and 8th centuries [2] . Through the inscriptions provided information about the name of the king, the ritual, the date of construction of the temple, the servants of the temple and the name of the capital.
