What to expect

  1. Talad Plu Market
    1h
Stop at Talad Plu, one of Thonburi's oldest local markets and a favourite evening food spot for Bangkok residents. Your guide leads you through the lively lanes lined with street food stalls, where you'll sample local specialties fresh off the grill. You'll also see the working railway line that runs right beside the market — watch the train pass by the food stalls, a classic slice of local Bangkok life you won't find on the tourist trail.
  2. Wat Khun Chan
    15m
Pause at Wat Khun Chan, a local Thonburi temple few tourists ever reach. Here your guide introduces you to two figures at the heart of Thai belief — Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom and remover of obstacles, and Phra Rahu, the god of darkness worshipped for turning bad luck into good fortune. Learn why locals come here to make offerings, what the colours and rituals mean, and how these beliefs still shape everyday life in the neighbourhood. A quiet, atmospheric stop that gives real insight into local faith away from the crowds.
  3. Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
    15m
Stop at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, home to one of Bangkok's most breathtaking sights — a giant golden-green Buddha towering over the Thonburi skyline. Your guide gives you time to take photos with the Big Buddha and explains the story behind this famous temple, one of the most revered in the city. It's the perfect photo stop and a stunning contrast to the quiet backstreets you've been riding through.
  4. Wat Nak Prok
    10m
Stop at Wat Nak Prok, a peaceful, little-known temple tucked away in the Phasi Charoen backstreets. Away from the tourist crowds, this quiet local temple gives you a real feel for everyday Thai Buddhism — beautiful murals, serene courtyards, and a calm atmosphere that locals come to for reflection. Your guide shares the meaning behind what you see and why this hidden spot is special, giving you a genuine glimpse of neighbourhood life in old Thonburi.
