Overview

This full-day tour takes travelers deep into northern Cambodia's countryside to discover three of the Khmer Empire's most remote and architecturally distinct sites: the overgrown jungle ruins of Beng Mealea, the 10th-century pyramid complex of Koh Ker, and the cliffside UNESCO World Heritage Site of Preah Vihear.
What Makes This Tour Unique?
• Beyond the Crowd: Leaves the busy circuits of Angkor behind to venture into quiet, atmospheric wilderness sites far off the typical tourist path.
• Dramatic Clifftop Views: Offers sweeping panoramic vistas from Preah Vihear's cliff edge that few other day trips in Cambodia can match.
• Distinct Architectural Diversity: Showcases three radically different styles of Khmer design in one trip: a jungle-clad labyrinth, a stepped pyramid, and a linear mountain-ridge sanctuary.
• Scenic Countryside Drive: Features a journey through rural Cambodian villages and picturesque northern landscapes, offering a glimpse into authentic countryside life.

  1. Prasat Beng Mealea
1h · Admission ticket not included
You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Beng Mealea which has recently been made more accessible with the addition of a wooden walkway throughout the structure assuring safe access and slight elevation, thus a better view.
  2. Koh Ker Temple
3h · Admission ticket not included
You will continue 50km north-east to the Koh Ker temple group – another ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Scattered over a large area, the most prominent temple of this group by far is the pyramid-like Prasat Thom. On a clear day one can see the Kulen Mountain range in the south-west direction and Dangrek Mountain in the north marking the border with Thailand.
  3. Preah Vihear Temple
3h · Admission ticket not included
Preah Vihear temple, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 7th, 2008. Subject to controversial ownership issues over time this temple officially belongs to Cambodia. Its location is 150km north of Siem Reap and it will take approximately 3 hours to get there. You will drive through picturesque countryside which becomes less and less populated the further north you go. This temple is a unique architectural complex of series of sanctuaries linked by a system of pavements and staircases on
800 meter long axis. It is an outstanding masterpiece of Khmer architecture and well preserved mainly due to its remote location.
